NO‑KNEAD ENGLISH MUFFINS K.F. Braden
Combine : ½ c. scalded milk
1 ½ tsp. Salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 tbs. Sugar
Cool to lukewarm by adding ½ cup water.
Add: 1pkg.dry yeast
Add: 3 cups sifted flour, mix well
Rollout on floured board to 1/4"inch thick
Cutout with large cutter (a tuna can with both ends cut out works very well!!)
Place on a baking sheet on which has been sprinkled 2 tablespoons cornmeal.
Let rise in a warm place (about an hour) till double
Bake slowly on a hot ungreased griddle about 7 minutes on each side.
Makes 10‑12 muffins
