CHESS PIES                                               Faucette 

PIE CRUST      

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
½ c. Wesson oil
1/4 c cold milk

Mix in bowl with pastry blender or stiff fork. Roll out between  sheets of waxed paper.

For shell, bake 15‑18 min at 450 degrees. 

CHESS PIES (about 24 small individual pies) 

Time: 25‑28 min       temp: 375 degrees

                (1/4) brackets means 1/4th recipe

2 c brown sugar (1/2c)

2 c white sugar (1/2c)

12 egg yolks    (3 )

2  whites       (1tbs)

2 sticks butter (1/2 stick) 

Cream butter and sugar, add yolks and whites a bit at a time  mixing well between each addition. Put in un-baked pie shells (for  individual use pot pie size tins) bake at 375 degrees for 25‑28  minutes. Store in an airtight container or in fridge. Lasts about  two days.
