CHUCK'S D.F.C.C.C. 1994 (Darn Fine Chocolate Chip Cookies 1994)(1994 Christmas gift to family & friends)Cream together: 1 cup butter flavored Crisco 2 tbsp. water 1 cup white sugar 1 packed cup brown sugar Add & cream: 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Take 2 ½ cups of oatmeal - put small amounts in a blender; blend until it turns to powder - set aside Mix: Oatmeal 2 cups flour ½ tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda Combine dry ingredients with creamed ingredients. Add 1 12-oz bag of chocolate chips . . . mix in Finely grate a 4-oz plain Hershey chocolate bar into the dough . . . mix in. Make tablespoon size cookies, roll into balls between hands, put on an ungreased cookie sheet (leave about 1.6453" between the balls) in a 375-degree oven for 10-12 minutes (they are a little soft when they come out of the oven . . . so must cool on cookie sheet for 7 - 8 minutes before being removed to a wire rack) Makes about 5 dozen cookies. Don't be clever and use butter instead of the butter flavored Crisco. While baking the cookies I suggest a simple Chablis, when eating the cookies (either warm or room temperature) chilled cow juice is usually the beverage of choice. |
