to serve with it. Heat a frying pan over moderate heat and add sausage and onion. Cook until sausage is brown and onion clear. Pour off all but 2 tbsp. of grease (add if not enough). Cook flour for just a minute. Add milk and stir until it thickens. Add pepper. Careful w/salt as sausage is usually salty. This is a Christmas morning tradition at the Braden's in Hawaii. Serve with very gently scrambled eggs with butter. It is too much work to do biscuits....especially if we are also making those orange glazed rolls that also come out of the can for Mikey! Have hot sauce available! |
