DAFFODIL CAKE K.F. BradenBuy 59 cent poundcake (probably a lot more now!) 1 pkg. plain gelatin Mix 1 c. cold water and gelatin in large bowl. Make following custard: 6 egg yolks 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. pineapple juice Juice of one lemon Cook over double boiler, stir until thick, while still hot pour into gelatin mixture and mix well. Beat 6 egg whites until stiff and add 3/4 c. sugar. Fold into custard. Break up cake into custard mix. Grease cake pan (bundt pan is best) with Wesson oil, pour in mixture and pack well. Put in refrigerator for 24 hours. Ice with flavored whipped cream(add a touch of vanilla and bit of sugar while whipping) and serve. Must be stored in refrigerator. |
