MACADAMIA AND CURRANT SCONES Ten Speed Press
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in sugar. Cut in butter. Stir in nuts and currants. Make a well in the center. In a separate bowl, blend cream and two eggs. Pour into the well of the flour mix. Stir well, then gather dough into a ball. It will be moist. Divide it in half. Roll each half into I inch thickness and cut into 3-inch rounds. Place on a baking sheet. Blend remaining egg and milk and brush tops of rounds. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden. - Makes 12 |
