NORTH CAROLINA VINEGAR BBQ SAUCE                 Basic

(Makes about 1 cups)

 

3/4 cup cider vinegar

cup water

cup thinly sliced onion

1 TSP. Sugar

1 TSP. Crushed red pepper

1 TSP. Salt

1/4 TSP. Freshly ground black pepper

 

Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir until the sugar and salt dissolve.  May be refrigerated for up to one week.
