PINEAPPLE CAKE                             Faucette family

(This recipe works best in medium skillet, with batter

Ingredients cut in half) or use ½ white cake mix. 

On stove place in skillet, ½ c brown sugar, 1/4lb.butter and bring to boiling point, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 1 large can pineapple arranging slices flat in skillet on top of the syrup or you can arrange the slices in a large baking dish and pour the syrup over) then arrange cherries in the center of the slices, if desired. 

Cream 1 c butter with 2 c sugar.

Add 2 tbs. boiling water, 3/4c milk, 3c flour, and 2 heaping tsp. of baking powder, and four eggs beaten separately. Add vanilla to taste (about 2 tsp.).

Pour batter over pineapple and syrup. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 min to 1 hour, or until cake is golden and toothpick comes out clean. 

Leave in skillet until cool, turn onto a large platter, serve with

Whipped cream.
